Mr Mpho Parks Tau is the Deputy Minister at the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs [COGTA], having been appointed in March 2023. Mr Tau is a member of the National Executive Committee of the ANC.

Tau has completed studies in Public Management from Regenesys Business School and holds a Masters’ Degree in Public Policy & Management from the University of London.

Parks Tau is a seasoned local government practitioner and is a former Executive Mayor of the Johannesburg Metro. Deputy Minister Tau continues to demonstrate his commitment to turn our country into an equitable, non-racial, non-sexist, a prosperous, and just society for all – particularly its youth and women – through the ongoing implementation of all developmental programs.
