Olayide Adesanya

Director and the Head of Programmes

Olayide Adesanya is a Director and the Head of Programmes at New Nigeria Foundation, bringing over thirty years of cross-sector experience across non-profit, training and manpower development, media, and education. Her extensive expertise includes stakeholder engagement, facilitation of multi-stakeholder initiatives, participatory stakeholder evaluation, and the design and implementation of sustainable community development projects and social investment initiatives. Her skills also span CSR consulting, administration, journalism, negotiation, and conflict management.

With a background in Mass Communication, Olayide leverages her understanding of human dynamics to advance development initiatives for diverse stakeholders. She has led and supported numerous high-impact projects across private and public sectors, displaying a keen ability for stakeholder engagement, conception and execution of sustainable development projects and programme evaluation. Currently, she leads a team providing technical support to 14 Host Communities Development Trusts (HCDTs) under Chapter Three of Nigeria’s Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021. Her past roles include serving as a consultant for the participatory stakeholder review of the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta, project lead for a USAID-funded advocacy project on the improvement of internally generated revenue in Akwa Ibom State, Project Director on an advocacy project focused on the reduction of crude oil theft in Nigeria, and as a monitoring and evaluation specialist for a World Bank-funded project in Abia State.  Olayide has also presented at numerous conferences and workshops, sharing insights on development and evaluation.

Before joining New Nigeria Foundation, she held leadership roles at the Financial Institutions Training Centre and served as the pioneer head of Corona Teachers College, managing its establishment and ensuring educational excellence. She holds a degree in Mass Communication, a postgraduate degree in Business Administration, and a Certificate in Facilitating Multi-Stakeholder Processes. Additionally, she is a member of the Nigerian Association of Evaluators (NAE) and the Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD).
