Mr. Nicola Saporiti (Nico) is a water infrastructure finance professional with 25 years of international experience, specializing in emerging markets. He is currently the water-sector-lead for the transaction and PPP advisory unit of the International Finance Corporation (IFC, part of the World Bank).
During the last 15 years he has been advising public-sector clients on the feasibility assessment, structuring and tendering of privately financed wastewater treatment and reuse, water supply, irrigation, hydropower transactions (plus the occasional airport). Prior to joining IFC, he worked briefly for the World Bank’s Latin America urban team. Prior to that he worked as investor and operator for European water and power utilities, and as engineering consultant advising regulated water utilities in the England and Wales. Nico graduated in Civil (Water) Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano University, in Italy, and holds an MBA from IMD in Switzerland.
