Nathan Fredericks, Industry Development Planner: Office of the COO Nathan is an industry developer with the IDC Industry Planning Unit, in the office of the COO. With close to 11 years of working experience at the IDC fulfilling several roles such as a Business Analyst, Dealmaker, Project Development Manager, and Industry Analyst. Nathan has a wealth of experience in many sectors such as Automotive and Transport Equipment, Forestry and Wood Products, and the Chemicals, Medical Devices and Pharmaceutical Value Chain. Nathan is currently responsible for developing and coordinating the IDC’sindustry value chain strategy for Automotive and New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) and assisted with drafting South Africa’s Just Energy Transition Investment and Implementation Plan NEV Chapters. Before joining the IDC in 2013, Nathan worked as an engineer at Mintek in their Advance Materials Division, Catalysis Unit where he specialised in commercial production of gold and PGM catalyst and technology transfer to market applications. Nathan holds degrees in Chemical Engineering and Economics.
