Andrea Bonetti is a senior specialist in power system protection and IEC 61850 applications based in Sweden. Holding a master’s degree in electrotechnical engineering from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, he boasts over 30 years of industry experience. Andrea served 13 years as an HV power system protection specialist at Hitachi Energy Grid Automation Products (formerly ABB) in Västerås, followed by 9 years at Megger in Stockholm, dealing with relay test equipment and IEC 61850 testing tools. Additionally, he has consulted in power system protection and IEC 61850 for 5 years. Andrea has a patent in IEC 61850 testing tools. Andrea is chairman of IEC TC 95 (Measuring relays and protection equipment) and is involved in several related IEC and IEEE committees. He received the IEC 1906 Award in 2013.
