Maudene van Rooyen serves as a Specialist in Power and Sustainable Solutions at Standard BankSouth Africa . In this role within the bank’s Business and Commercial Banking division, she is responsible for driving renewable energy and sustainable solutions initiatives for businesses. Maudene advises businesses on financing and implementing sustainability projects, helping them future-proof their operations against challenges like loadshedding and rising costs.

Her focus is on providing holistic financing solutions and expert guidance that enable clients to adopt solar power, battery storage, and other clean energy technologies such as hydro, biomass, and biogas as part of their core business strategy. With 7 years of experience at Standard Bank, Maudene has become a key figure in advancing renewable energy and embedded generation projects in South Africa. She has been instrumental in financing and developing on-site solar photovoltaic (PV) installations for businesses, particularly in the agricultural and commercial sectors.

Her work helps companies reduce reliance on the national grid and diesel generators, cutting costs and carbon emissions while mitigating the impact of power outages. Importantly, she is part of Standard Bank’s broader commitment to mobilise funding for sustainable infrastructure as the country transitions towards cleaner practices.
