WIE Speaker

Mamello is a currently a Banker joining us from Standard Bank South Africa. She recently joined the Energy and Infrastructure Client Coverage business, after working in Investment Banking on both the M&A and ECM desks. Prior to Investment Banking, Mamello worked at a hedge fund in Cape Town where she was primarily involved in fund accounting workstreams – ensuring that internal investment holdings matched with the records received from external brokers. She also delivered on several presentations around the introduction of Carbon Tax in South Africa and its potential impact on investment holdings, introduction to the Chinese Economy and its impact on investments, as well as a presentation on the introduction of synthetic diamonds & the impact thereof on the Diamond industry in South Africa.

Mamello also took time out from Finance to actively pursue her passion for human health where she worked in Public Health research, as well as, working at a health-tech start-up in Cape Town as a programme analyst, where she conducted user-testing on a screening tool that is designed to detect the probability of treatment default for HIV patients visiting public health facilities in South Africa.

Mamello aspires to be a world-class banker, and a leader in business and currently holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree (specialising in Economics), as well as a Masters in Public
Health degree (specialising in Health Economics) both from the University of Cape Town. Outside of work, Mamello enjoys running, hiking and baking. An interesting fact about her is that
whilst she presents as an extrovert, Mamello is in fact introverted and enjoys the peace and solitude that comes with spending most of her time indoors.
