Professor Dona Kampata Mbwelele is a trained Geologist, a specialist in mineralogy and has a long career in the Congolese administration.
Tutor of a doctorate in Geology, mineralogy option of the catholic University of Leuven in Belgium and obtained a master’s degree in surface land geology from the University of Liège in Belgium. He has a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Lubumbashi obtained in 1982.
He won the award of excellence from the Royale Academy of science of Outre-Mer in Belgium and joined the Ministry of Mines as a technical advisor in charge of mines and geology.
He was appointed general coordinator at the technical unit for mining coordination and planning (CTCPM) from 2008 to 2018. He is currently Director General of the National Geological Service of Congo Since 2018 to date and Professor at the Univesrity of Kinshasa in the Faculty of Petrol, Gaz et renewable energy.
