Financing power-to-x to build out hydrogen value chain – ESI Africa

Power-to-x is electricity conversion, energy storage and reconversion pathways from surplus renewable energy, whether that x is in the form of hydrogen, ammonia, methane heat or something else.

Power-to-x conversion technology allows power to be decoupled from the electricity sector and used in other sectors like transport. This surplus power has often been provided by additional investment in generation capacity.
