People Officer

One of South Africa’s most dynamic and exciting conference and exhibition organisers is recruiting a People Officer to influence the team culture and drive engagement across the group. We believe that our people are at the heart of our organisation and this role will be important in achieving our next phase of growth. Working closely with the Chief People Officer and CEO you will be responsible to recruit the best candidates, develop the onboarding processes, ensure effective team performance reviews and deliver strategies to build an organisation with a high-performance team at its core.

We are looking for a mid-level experienced HR professional who has a passion for working with people. The individual will be successful in the role when they demonstrate that high performance teams are created by an organisation that values its staff and a company that demonstrates it’s value and purpose. We achieve this through structured communication channels both internal and external, regular survey touch-points, comprehensive onboarding and available SoP’s, performance reviews, team wellbeing initiatives. Job Outline:

  • End-to-End Recruitment: Design and manage the entire recruitment process for both permanent and fixed-term employees.
  • Youth Recruitment: Develop and implement recruitment strategies for graduates and interns.
  • Selection and Onboarding: Oversee the selection and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Talent Pipeline: Build and maintain talent pipelines for future workforce needs.
  • Reporting: Compile and present monthly reports on recruitment metrics and challenges.
  • Well-Being Initiatives: Collaborate with the Chief People Officer to create and implement a well-being plan, coordinate team activities, and drive participation in employee engagement surveys.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external stakeholders, including agencies and educational institutions.
  • Internal Communication: Use the VUKA Pulse Intranet site to share company news and successes.
  • Occupational Health and Safety: Assist the HR Director in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Employee Feedback: Gather and communicate employee feedback to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Education: HR/Communications diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role with extensive recruitment experience.
  • Engagement Expertise: Understanding of employee engagement and its business benefits.
