Position Overview: As a Digital Graphic Designer working outside of a traditional agency setting, you will be responsible for creating visually compelling and effective digital designs to meet various communication and marketing needs. You will collaborate with internal teams or clients directly to understand project requirements and deliver designs that align with their objectives. This role requires a strong blend of creative and technical skills, as well as the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Design Development: Create engaging and innovative digital designs, including website graphics, social media visuals, online advertisements, email templates, infographics, and other digital assets.
- Project Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams or clients to understand project requirements, objectives, and target audience. Incorporate feedback and provide design recommendations to ensure the final product meets stakeholders’ expectations.
- Brand Consistency: Maintain brand consistency across all digital designs by following established brand guidelines and style standards. Adapt designs for different platforms and screen sizes while preserving the brand identity.
- Visual Storytelling: Use design elements, typography, color schemes, and imagery to effectively convey messages and tell stories that resonate with the target audience.
- User Experience (UX) Considerations: Apply principles of user-centered design to create intuitive and user-friendly digital interfaces. Ensure designs enhance the overall user experience and align with usability best practices.
- Technical Proficiency: Utilize graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), to create and manipulate digital assets. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging design tools/techniques.
- Asset Management: Organize and maintain a library of digital assets, including stock photos, icons, fonts, and templates, for easy access and efficient workflow.
- Deadline Adherence: Manage project timelines effectively and deliver high-quality designs within established deadlines. Proactively communicate any challenges or delays to relevant stakeholders.
- Design Optimization: Optimize digital designs for different platforms and devices, considering responsive web design principles and mobile-first approaches.
- Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities for self-improvement and growth by staying updated on design trends, attending relevant workshops or courses, and exploring new design techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a digital graphic designer, with a portfolio showcasing a diverse range of digital design work
- Proficiency in graphic design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout composition
- Knowledge of current digital design trends and emerging technologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams or clients
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming design challenges
- Knowledge of HTML and responsive web design principles (preferred, but not mandatory)
