Overview

The project is to retrofit leaking toilet cisterns with Zambezi Eye leak proof cisterns in areas where people do not or cannot pay for water. Zambezi Eye cisterns is a ground breaking South African innovation, which replaced the leak prone bottom seal with a dump bucket which is simply rotated 90 degrees clockwise to dump 6 liters of water to flush. It is an easily implementable, cost effective, scalable, job creating, community involving, problem solving, win-win-win and low hanging fruit proposal to save municipalities millions in financial and water losses.

The project is to build onto research already done with the Water Research Commission in South Africa and Johannesburg Water, which resulted in 97,3% non-revenue water savings! We have letters of interest from five municipalities supporting this project to save NRW in their areas of supply, if funding can be secured. Other municipalities are also interested in the project.
